The Management Committee

The agency is governed by a Constitution and overseen by a small Management Committee made up of voluntary Trustees.  These Trustees are all passionate about the agency and the young people it supports.

Staff Members

Nicola Maskell is the agency Co-ordinator/Director . 

Nicola has overall responsibility of the agency, and has been in post since October 2001.  Nicola is also a professionally qualified counsellor, and prior to October 2001 she was on the rota with 14-21 as a volunteer counsellor.  She continues to offer some counselling sessions when required and this gives her a great advantage of knowing the agency from both the counselling and the business perspective.  Her knowledge and understanding of the issues affecting young people today is boundless.

Nicola has been fundamental in establishing and maintaining the Outreach project, which ensures that the counselling services are offered in certain school locations. 

Nicola co-ordinates a team of over 25 volunteer counsellors, ensuring the smooth running of the agency and is also Line manager for the agency Admin & Finance Manager.

Nicola manages a full time job within part time hours!!

Alex Osterritter is the agency Admin & Finance Manager

Alex has been with the agency since September 2001.  She is responsible for the day to day administration; booking client appointments; fundraising; creating promotional information; budget forecasts; daily finance, setting up this website etc etc.

Alex works closely with Nicola on all aspects of running 14-21, continuing to maintain current committments as well as research and development, ensuring that the agency is always ready to support the young people of West Berkshire in the most appropriate ways.  

The Counsellors

The team of professional counsellors are all either already fully qualified or currently undergoing in depth training and are working with us as a placement counsellor fulfilling the counselling course requirements.  The team have an amazing wealth of experience between them and are all very passionate about helping young people in West Berkshire.  They offer their time completely free of charge, which is why the agency can function without making a charge to the clients, although donations are always greatly received as the agency can only survive with succesful fundraising activities.

The counsellors are all fully enhanced CRB checked prior to starting any work with young people on a one to one basis.
